Introduction

Amy Tam studied music and harp in Beijing since her childhood.
After graduated from the China Central Conservatory of Music, she furthered her studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts where she obtained
the Professional Diploma with distinction. The Molly McAulay Scholarship subsequently awarded her a full scholarship
to study the Master of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Amy performed with several prominent orchestras since her early
age. She accompanied the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra to Taiwan as the Principal Harp and the Shenzhen Philharmonic
Orchestra as the China Delegation to the Berlin Music Festival followed by a performing tour to Germany and Czechoslovakia. She
has been active in performing with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra since 1998 and the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra,
both of which she played regularly in the last two seasons since her return from Sydney. She also worked with the City Chamber
of Orchestra of Hong Kong, the Guangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shenzhen Philharmonic Orchestra for many years.
